Going Off to College?

First of all, Coach Candace recommends that you invest in a good academic planner/calendar. In college, there are many different due dates and other dates to keep track of, so having a calendar can really help with staying on top of those dates! Secondly, staying organized is crucial to success. She recommends having a binder/notebook for each class, and have them color-coded. For example, one class is red, another is green and so on. If you have an organizational system already in place that you’ve used throughout high school, it is a great idea to keep that system in place! Time management is the biggest issue facing college students. Not only are you having to keep track of when your classes meet, you have to keep track of when to do homework and when to have fun! If you schedule out your day, making sure you have plenty of time to study, then staying on top of your work won’t be a problem! Coach Candace is available this summer to help you get an organizational system in place and to help you with time management before you leave for college! She can also Skype with you during the school year so you can have extra support during this challenging first year!
